This Week In Swim Vol VI: Some Time To Decompress

    Good Evening Swimmers and Swammers,

We have a light week ahead of us with the holiday being built into the schedule this year. Normally Divisional Relays would be this week, but the league decided to clear out space around the 4th of July for this season. While there may not be any meets on the schedule, that doesn't mean we have nothing going on.

    This Week's Schedule

We will have our regular practice schedule throughout the week except for Thursday. There will be no practices on Thursday as the club hosts 4th of July festivities. Feel free to come join me on the Olympic Pool deck for games and relays starting at 11AM on Thursday. I will be emceeing all the events and always love to have swim team families on the blocks.

    Divisional Relay Champs Sign Up

Please make sure to make your swimmers' availability known for the Divisional Relay meet (Tuesday, July 9th @ Kenwood CC) by Monday night. I would like to have that lineup finalized for everyone on Wednesday so that we can get that information out to families before the holiday.

The Divisional Relay meet will be the smallest lineup we have all season. With only one free relay and one medley relay for each age group, only about 45 swimmers will actually be in the water competing in the meet. This also happens to be one of the most fun meets to attend. It is short (done before 8PM usually) and there is always a fun dinner/dance party afterward. So I would strongly encourage all those swimmers who may not be entered to come and cheer on their friends and teammates and then join in the festivities after the swimming. The theme for next Tuesday will be USA! so get out the red, white, and blue in preparation for the Olympics later this month.

We look forward to a great week working with everyone as we get some time away from meets. Hope you all have a wonderful holiday week.

    From the Deck,

    Coach Ian
