This Week In Swim Vol III: Time To Settle In
Good Evening Everyone,
Apologies for being a day late this week, but sometimes the weekend just catches up with you. After a fun, even if out of place, Blue-Gold time trial meet on Saturday, we are into our full regular schedule this week. Things are pretty quiet on the docket as we get settled into the season.
Schedule
We are now on our regular summer schedule which will run through the end of the season. Here is the breakdown --
Swim Team (all practices at The St. James)
Monday-Thursday: 9:00-10:30AM for 10&Under swimmers, 10:30AM-12:00PM for 11&Older swimmers
Friday: 9:30-11:00AM fun practice for swimmers of all ages.
Junior Team (all practices at Army Navy-Fairfax)
Monday-Friday 8:30-9:15AM
Meet Sign Ups
This seems like as good a time as any to go over sign ups for meets throughout the season. If you have questions about specific meets please take a gander at the FAQ section of the Swimtopia website. Many of your questions can be answered with a simple perusal of that page. For all 'A' dual meets all swimmers who are available to swim will be entered in at least freestyle.
The most important piece is to make sure you sign up your swimmers for meets you plan to attend. You can mark your swimmers' availability for all meets now. Entries will close 48 hours prior to each meet, but it is very helpful to have that information prior to that so that the coaches can start to work on the lineups.
The main point is your swimmer will not be entered in a meet unless you have marked them as available for the meet. If your swimmer is marked as not attending or has no response they will not be entered in the meet. Our first meet is next Tuesday against Washington Golf & CC. Please go ahead and make your availability known so that we can start working on the lineups. See attached for the food drive we plan to run along with Washington Golf to benefit the Arlington Food Assistance Center. More information will be coming later in the week as well.
From the Deck,
Coach Ian
