This Week In Swim Volume I: And So It Begins
Good Evening Army Navy!
We are through the first half week and are now in our first full week of the swim season. We currently have over 300 swimmers registered for the team and across our first four days of practice we have had over 200 swimmers in the water each day. It has been an absolute thrill to get everyone back on deck and in the water. As we get rolling in earnest this week I wanted to provide a few practice reminders for swimmers and parents. I will send out a weekly email such as this throughout the season. Depending on the events that week these can get quite long. I try very hard to encapsulate all the pertinent information for the week into one easy to find email in your inbox. This way you are not receiving multiple emails to me over the course of the week. So please take the time to read through them over the course of the week or as questions arise about upcoming events. Please also peruse the FAQ page on the Swimtopia website (ancc.swimtopia.com/faq) whenever you feel the need to email a question our way. So here is our first week in swim:

Practice Preparedness
-Swimmers should arrive in their swimsuits.
-To cut down on cup usage, swimmers should have a water bottle for each practice.
-Please make sure that your swimmer has goggles and, for our long-haired friends, caps.
-Swimmers should bring their own towels in order to cut down on the usage of club towels as much as possible.
Entry Procedures
To help cut down on traffic through the upper pool house swimmers are being given the option to enter through the gate right off the olympic pool. This entrance is only for swimmers. We ask that parents still enter through the main entrance. If you want to walk your swimmer to the deck please enter with them through the main entrance.
The Blue-Gold Time Trials Meet
When: Friday, June 11th. Warm Ups: 5:30PM, Events Begin: 6:00PM
Who: All Swim Team members
What: Our first meet of the season is an intra-squad meet. All members of the swim team may participate and are encouraged to do so. This is essentially our time trials meet so swimmers should swim all events they are capable of competing in. All entries will need to be made by parents via their Swimtopia portal. The entry window for this meet will close on Wednesday night, June 9th, at 11PM.
Chevy Chase 'B' Meet Entry Deadline
While our B meet at Chevy Chase next Tuesday is not part of this week, we will need all entries to be made prior to Sunday night, June 13th.
From the Deck,
Coach Ian
