The Week in Swim Vol V: The Postseason

    Good Evening Army Navy,

A front-loaded week lies ahead. Before we get to it though, I want to send a thank you out to everyone for bearing with us through last week. We had one of the most crowded and hectic weeks that I can remember all while DC turned into Death Valley (Now With Humidity!). There were a lot of changes and differing meet lineups that went out and I cannot thank you all enough for how patient and on top of it everyone managed to be. It made for some great meets, fast racing, and altogether good times for all (no matter how many shirts we soaked through).

    On to the week:

    Monday:

No Stroke Clinic: There will be no stroke clinic Monday as we prepare for our rare Monday evening meet.

No Afternoon Practice: Again, we will be out at Manor (see below) for the meet so we will not be holding afternoon practice on Monday.

Rescheduled Duel Meet @ Manor CC: We head out to Manor again tomorrow to makeup the meet we were unable to get started on July 11th. We are very aware that weather may be an issue again and will be monitoring that throughout the day. We will likely do everything possible to get this meet in as there are very few dates left to make it up. Here's what you need to know:

-Lineup Attached (relays have not been done yet, so you may be on relays that are not on this entry file).

    -Warm Ups: 5:45PM

    -Meet Start: 6:30PM

Manor has let us know that the pool will be open to Army Navy members starting at 5PM if you are looking to beat the traffic early.

-A buffet dinner will be offered throughout the meet and after we finish

    Tuesday:

Meet Entry Deadline for Champs: Please make sure to mark your availability for the CCSDA Championship Meet taking place July 29th and 30th. While not every swimmer will take part in this meet in the water, it is imperative that we know who will be able to make it and who will not. Your swimmer will only be considered for entry if they have been positively marked as 'Available' for the meet.

A Division Championship Meet: We will be heading back out to Manor on Tuesday for the A Division Championship Meet. We are only able to enter 2 swimmers in most events for this meet so the lineup of swimmers is quite small. The entry report is attached so please make sure to peruse. As with the Relay Meet, all swimmers are welcome and encouraged to join us to cheer and join in the fun that our championship meets are. I am also aware that Manor is not quite as close as Washington Golf. Everyone that comes, make sure to rep your Army-gold and Navy-blue.

    Warm Ups: 5:00-5:50PM

    Meet Start: 6:00PM

    Wednesday:

Regular Schedule: We will be on our regular schedule on Wednesday, including 4:00-5:00PM afternoon practice. Please be aware that practice through this week are still for all swimmers. Whether or not you are entered in our championship meets, we would love to see everyone at practice.

    Thursday:

Champs Lineup Released: The CCSDA Champs lineup will be released on Thursday morning. The Champs meet only allows us to enter 2 swimmers in each event. This lineup will differ from the Divisionals lineup however since each swimmer can only swim 2 events. If you do not swim at Divisionals on Tuesday, you still very well may be on the Champs roster.

Be on the lookout later in the week for all the happenings as we host Champs on July 29th and 30th. There is no better place to watch a summer league meet than Army Navy during Champs. Our Olympic Pool will be transformed into a venue with stadium seating befitting any pro swim meet. Plan to come join the festivities and make some noise for the Gold and Blue.

    From the Deck,

    Coach Ian
