Good Evening Watchers of the Waves,

It's that time of year: the postseason is here. Start growing out your beards and put your rally caps on, cuz it's time for some good ole fashioned racin'. There are a lot of changes to the schedule this week so please make sure to read through everything and be aware that we are not on a normal schedule this week. 

Monday, July 16th:

12:30-1:00PM: Stroke Clinic

We will be working on turns tomorrow. We will go over both flip turns (for backstroke and freestyle) and open turns (for breaststroke and butterfly). While only our 11 and over swimmers need to use these now, it's always good for the 10&U to get a head start. Again, all registered swim team members are welcome at the stroke clinic.

Afternoon practices will be on as regularly scheduled

Tuesday, July 17th:

Please make sure that you have marked your child as Available or not for the CCSDA Championships on July 23rd and 24th. There is a quick turnaround on that lineup after Divisionals and it always helps to know who is available and who is not.

'A' Division Championship Meet

As stated in the email last night, all those swimming at Divisionals should arrive at Congressional by 4:45PM for a 5:00PM warm up. The meet will begin at 6:00PM and will be followed by a buffet dinner and DJ dance party on the terrace. All members of the team are welcome and encouraged to join us on deck whether they are swimming or not. I have attached the lineup again for your perusal.

Wednesday, July 18th:

11:00AM -- Poster Making Party:

The team will gather together to make posters for the team area at the CCSDA Championship meet next week. All swimmers of all ages are welcome to join and make their posters in groups or individually. It is a great chance for all ages of the team to get together and support those swimming in the Championship meet.

No Afternoon Practices on Wednesday:

Due to Army Navy hosting Senior Dive Champs we will not be able to have any practices on Wednesday afternoon as teams from around the league will come in for their scheduled time to practice on the diving boards. 

Thursday, July 19th:

Final Practices of the Season:

Thursday will be our last day of practices for the season. All swimmers are welcome at practice all week whether they are on the Divisionals or Champs roster or not.

Champs Lineup Finalized:

The final lineup for Champs will be ready for all to see on Thursday, so be on the lookout.

Friday, July 20th:

No practices will be held on Friday:

Senior Dive Champs will be taking place at Army Navy through the morning and into the afternoon on Friday. Therefore we will not have access to the pool and will have to acquiesce to the divers this day. Think of it as a rest day before the big week comes along. You'll need all your faculties and energy to live Champs week the right way.

Speaking of Champs week, please be on the lookout later this week for an email with all the Champs information, schedule, and events that are coming over the weekend and through Monday and Tuesday next week. I know I am looking forward to another great week.
