This Week in Swim Vol III: June 25-30
Good Evening Everyone,
I hope everyone is ready for another packed week of pool time. The practice schedule will remain the same as last week through the rest of the summer, so I will not be including it in this email. It should also be noted that all practices are on unless you hear otherwise. We will make sure to get an email out via Swimtopia and through the club if practices need to be cancelled for any reason. I have also been getting a lot of email questions and comments on entries in Swimtopia. Make sure to take a spin through our FAQ section on Swimtopia to help cover the vast majority of information about our summer.
Later this week, please be on the lookout for information on the Yellow Ribbon Aquathon. I do not want to bog down this email with all of that material, so I will include it separately. The event will be next Friday, July 6th. So mark your calendars. Now, on to the events for the week.
Monday, June 25th:
12:30-1:00PM: Stroke Clinic
We moved up the time a little bit since we had so many people waiting for us to start last week after practices ended. This week we will be working on breaststroke. Mainly focusing on pullouts, but also the basics for those that still need to get the stroke down pat.
Tuesday, June 26th:
Deadline for sign up for Manor meet closes at 10:00PM
This is our first week with two meets and it is imperative that all information is in on Tuesday night so that we can turn around the lineups for Thursday.
6:15PM: 'A' Division Dual Meet @ Kenwood CC
First please be aware that Kenwood is planning to start the meet 15 minutes earlier than our normal start time. Our warm up time will be at 5:45PM at Kenwood with the first event going in the water at 6:15PM. So adjust accordingly. I will have the lineups finalized by tomorrow night hopefully for everyone to peruse.
Wednesday, June 27th:
10:30AM-12:00PM: Superhero Party
Join us on the Dive Inn deck for another Swim and Dive Team social. Have your swimmer dress as their favorite super hero ready for games, prizes, snacks, and refreshments. The timing is meant for swimmers to still come to their practice time and have a chance to join the party before or afterward.
Thursday, June 28th:
6:30PM: 'A' Division Dual Meet vs. Manor
Finally, our first home meet of the season. Since the home team warms up first our warm ups will start at 5:30PM on Thursday night. Make sure to grab some dinner after your swimmers have finished their events as a buffet will be set up starting at 7:00PM in the Sports Camp room. Here is the planned menu:
Dinner Buffet
Seasoned Ground Beef
Grilled Chicken Fajitas
Grilled Squash & Portobello
Fajitas with peppers & onions
Flour Tortillas & Taco Shells
Lettuce, tomato, chopped onion, cheddar cheese, Salsa & sour cream
Tortilla chips, Spanish Rice, Ranch Style Pinto Beans

Another full week is upon us. So make sure to stay tuned for updates.
